BOTTOM BARRIER SOLUTIONS

Bottom barriers are large high-specification screens designed specifically for controlling growth of underwater plants. Barriers have a fundamental purpose of killing pioneering infestations and maintaining open water areas for swimming, fishing, and docking boats.

We provide a full service solution, including evaluation, planning, installation, regular inspection and maintenance to homeowners. Our service is affordable and of good value to the homeowner who wishes to keep weed-free water access to the water. Aquatic Weed Control is a proud supplier and user of AquaScreen® benthic barrier material for professional, long lasting results.

We start with an on-site evaluation of your water property, taking into consideration critical aspects of your particular situation, and we make recommendations as to how a bottom barrier can keep milfoil and other noxious weeds from growing in targeted areas. We submit a plan of action and price proposal. Once these have been agreed upon, we dispatch one of our professional dive teams to your property to install a custom prepared bottom barrier.

By law, bottom barriers may only be applied to half your water property at a time and must be removed after two years. During these two years, our divers make scheduled and announced visits to your property by boat to check the barrier, verifying that it is in the original position and that the securing devices are intact. Should the dives determine that corrections are needed, we do this at no additional charge.
