BOTTOM BARRIER SOLUTIONS

If you operate a commercial waterfront property and have a problem with aquatic weeds, such as milfoil, we offer time-tested and cost-effective bottom barrier service. Our full service contract operation includes initial evaluation and recommendations for your property, installation, maintenance, removal, and disposal of the bottom barrier.

Bottom barriers, large material screens specified specifically for controlling growth of underwater plants, have the fundamental function of killing pioneering infestations and maintaining open water in docks and swimming areas.  Aquatic Weed Control is a proud retailer and installer of AquaScreen, a material specified for benthic barrier applications.

We evaluate your property, taking into consideration critical aspects of your particular situation, and make recommendations as to how a bottom barrier may help you keep weeds from growing in targeted areas. By Washington State law, bottom barriers may be applied to only half your water property at one time and must be removed after two years. For other states, please contact us and we can review your particular state's requirements.  Once a plan has been agreed upon and proper permits obtained, we mobilize our dive teams to come to your property and install a custom prepared bottom barrier.

Part of the contract is a two-year maintenance agreement whereby our dive teams make scheduled visits to your property by boat to check the barrier, verifying that it is secured and functioning correctly. Should the dive team determine that corrections are needed, it will do this for you at no additional charge. And if you should detect a problem with the barrier, we will assign the next available dive team to correct the problem --again at no additional charge.
